MINIMUM WAGE SET TO $7.25 PER HOUR STARTING JULY 1ST, TIMELINE FOR $8.50 RISE UNCLEAR

Everything is said to be on track for new minimum wage in the Territory of $7.25 per hour on Tuesday, July 1st.

Cabinet at its meeting of 28 May 2025, approved the increase that will be adjusted using a phased approach, as recommended in the comprehensive review conducted by the Minimum Wage Advisory Committee.

In addition to the phased approach to increasing the minimum wage, a number of targeted interventions to support the increase will be introduced.

During a press conference last week, Premier and Minister of Finance Dr. Natalio Wheatley was asked about a time-line for implementing the initial amount increase in the minimum wage of $8.50.
