The Ministry of Health and the BVI Health Services Authority say there is growing concern over rising cases of diabetes, heart disease, and cancer across the Virgin Islands with more cases now appearing among younger residents.
In response, the Ministry has launched Red Loud, a national awareness initiative focused on nutrition, preventative care, and lifestyle education.

At a recent public forum, the Cancer Prevention Conference also spotlighted the link between nutrition and long-term disease risk. Local nutritionist Gabrielle Joseph presented everyday habits that may increase the likelihood of cancer and offered alternatives to reduce exposure.

The Ministry is encouraging residents , especially men, to schedule regular health screenings and make gradual changes to eating and exercise habits.
