PM GASTON BROWNE PRAISES BVI LEADERSHIP, CALLS FOR STRONGER CARIBBEAN INTEGRATION

During a press engagement at the 49th CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting in Montego Bay, Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Sir Gaston Browne spoke to regional media about the importance of Caribbean integration and expressed strong support for the leadership of the British Virgin Islands.

He pointed to recent wins like the election of a CARICOM national as Secretary General of the Organization of American States—an achievement made possible through unified regional support.

Browne stated integration is essential for small island development and allows the region to compete more effectively by pooling resources and coordinating foreign policy.

When asked about the leadership of the BVI’s Premier, Browne offered words of encouragement and a vote of confidence from the wider CARICOM leadership.
