Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Hon. Natalio D. Wheatley traveled to the United Kingdom on July 13th, 2025, to attend official meetings with the Minister for the Overseas Territories, the Hon. Stephen J. Doughty, and other UK Government officials. The sessions were scheduled from July 14-15, 2025. The announcement was made during a recent press conference held by the leader of Government business himself.
Wheatley’s visit is part of the ongoing discourse between the Virgin Islands and the United Kingdom on governance reform and other bilateral issues. When questioned on his confidence in returning with the motion of no confidence having been listed. Wheatley said he is confident in the Government has meet all the requirements and that its time for the territory to move on.
