The National Emergency Operations Centre Building, NEOC was expected to be completed in the first quarter of last year.
As it stands now, only the shell of the building is in place and government has cancelled the contract with the contractors, Tandem Development and D&B Construction which was managed by Virella Crespo and Associates
The contract for the construction of the centre was valued at Nine Million, Eight Hundred and Three Thousand, Two Hundred and Fifteen Dollars, and Fifty-Three Cents.
And after paying out more than half its value, a new contractor is expected to be hired next month.
During the Virgin Islands Voice programme, Premier Wheatley addressed the issue.
