The BVI Postal Service has announced the temporary suspension of all mail items containing goods destined for the United States and its territories, effective Friday, August 29, until further notice.
The decision comes in response to U.S. Executive Order 14324, which immediately eliminates the duty-free de minimis exemption and requires all international parcels, regardless of value, to be subject to import duties.
While parcels and packages are affected, the Postal Service confirmed that letters and documents will continue to be accepted and processed without interruption.
In a statement, the Postal Service apologized for any inconvenience caused by the suspension and thanked customers for their understanding and continued support.
