The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) announced that 23-year-old Erick Rabsatt has been returned to the territory and is now in police custody. Rabsatt was extradited and formally charged on September 5 with the murder of 31-year-old Jaimez Stoutt, which took place on December 11, 2021.

He is expected to appear before the Magistrate’s Court early next week, depending on court availability. Acting Police Commissioner Jacqueline Vanterpool emphasized that this development marks an important step in pursuing justice for Stoutt’s family and the community.

β€œThe return and charging of Mr. Rabsatt show our ongoing commitment to addressing violence in our territory,” Vanterpool said. β€œThis case has been a heavy burden for nearly four years, and we want the public to know that no one is beyond the reach of justice. The RVIPF remains dedicated to protecting our communities and holding those responsible accountable.”

The police force thanked the public for their patience and cooperation during the investigation and assured that they will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
