The Ministry of Communications and Works has announced the early completion of the Manchester Road rehabilitation project, delivering much-needed improvements to motorists and pedestrians well before the scheduled October deadline.
The project, which commenced shortly after the August holidays, involved the construction of approximately 420 linear feet of concrete road pavement. The works not only enhanced the durability of the roadway but also addressed persistent drainage issues, eliminating the constant flow of water along the main road and protecting the surface from further degradation.
Minister for Communications and Works, Kye Rymer, praised the contractor for completing the project on time and within budget.
“The ministry is cognizant of the concerns of motorists and residents that traverse the areas who were inconvenienced and in response to this, executed much-needed rehabilitation works in the Manchester area,” said Minister Rymer. “The ministry remains committed to delivering durable and long-term solutions throughout the Territory and will continue to modernise utilities and infrastructure.”
The Manchester Road upgrade forms part of the Ministry’s broader mandate to enhance public infrastructure in line with international standards, ensuring that utilities remain reliable, affordable, and supportive of improved quality of life across the Virgin Islands.
