Junior Minister for Financial Services Lorna Smith says the BVI has lost one of its greatest men of all times.
Minister Smith spoke about the youthful days with Dr. Robert Mathavious growing up in Huntums Ghut together and the latter years becoming her counsellor.
She stated that without a doubt Mathavious was the architect of the Financial Services Industry as they know it today, as he was central to its’ development here.
According to Minister Smith, it was as a result or Mathavious’ strategic vision and pioneering spirit that made the BVI what it is today.
She says he believed in innovation.
