CARIBBEAN NOT INSULATED FROM GLOBAL CRISES, WARNS DR. MIKE

Pastor Dr. Michael Turnbull has warned that the world is undergoing a deep “identity crisis,” as conflict, violence and global instability continue to dominate headlines.

Speaking during a recent sermon, Dr. Turnbull reflected on the ongoing war in Ukraine, Sudan and the humanitarian crisis in Palestine, saying these events illustrate how humanity has become desensitized to suffering.

Dr Turnbull urged people to reject selective empathy and instead embrace the biblical commandment to “love your neighbour as yourself.”

He also highlighted the recent assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk noting that while Kirk’s murder was wrong, so too were the killings of countless Black individuals in the United States.

Turnbull cautioned Caribbean audiences not to feel insulated from global crises, warning that powerful nations shaping the global economy and driving Climate change are leaving the region grappling with growing anxiety and uncertainty.

He stressed that true identity is not rooted in politics or power but in Christ — an identity expressed through love.
