Miss Teen British Virgin Islands Maya Marcellin, has added another historic first to her reign after becoming the first Virgin Islander to win Best Costume at the Teen Universe International Pageant.
Marcellin, who was crowned Miss Teen BVI in 2025, previously made history in December of that year when she became the first Virgin Islander to capture the title of the Haynes Smith Miss Talented Teen.
Competing against contestants from 23 countries at the Teen Universe International Pageant held in Nicaragua last week, Marcellin stood out in her winning costume which paid tribute to cultural icon and founder of the BVI Heritage Danceers, the Late Honourable Eileene Parsons.
The Miss Teen BVI Committee congratulated Marcellin on her success stating that she made the British Virgin Islands proud with her “grace, confidence, and dedication on the international stage”. “Your achievement is an inspiration to young people across our islands and a shining moment for the BVI. Keep reaching for the stars – this is only the beginning”, the committee added.
