HON. CARVIN MALONE HAS REJOINED THE NATIONAL UNITY GOVERNMENT

Territorial at Large Representative Honourable Carvin Malone crossed the floor to re-join the National Unity Government.

This development was announced by Speaker of the House of Assembly Corine George-Massicote on Thursday.

This is the second time that Malone has crossed the floor of the House of Assembly, in less than a year.

Malone separated from the National Unity Government last June.

At the time, he explained the move by stating that his views “no longer aligned” with the National Unity Government.

Over time however, Malone began to shed more light on the apparent disconnect between him and his VIP comrades on the coalition government initiative.

He went on, in August, to liken the formation of the National Unity Government, and its take of leadership in the Territory to a coup, due to the absence of democratic elections.

And by November 2022, he had also voiced belief that his exclusion from the Cabinet of the National Unity Government was a result of him being deemed ineligible due to his perceived close relationship with Former Premier Fahie.

His move to re-join the National Unity Government comes on the eve of the Territory’s next General Election.
