LOOPS (CARIBBEAN) – From tomorrow, an 8 pm to 5 am weekday curfew will be imposed on New Providence, Abaco and Grand Bahama.
Prime Minister Hubert Minnis said the decision to impose a curfew on Grand Bahama is to address any community spread cases.
Minnis told Bahamians: “Restrictions are not a punishment for the island with a problem. The restrictions are a public health tool to promote more physical distancing, which can save lives.”
Funeral and weddings on Grand Bahama have been limited to 10 people, not including the officiant or mortuary/cemetery workers.
On Abaco, food stores may now open on Saturday from 6 am to 7 pm.
All beaches and parks on New Providence and Abaco may open from November 2.
Groups are limited to five individuals and the COVID-19 Enforcement Unit will heavily monitor beaches and parks.
Construction companies on islands under a 24-hour weekend curfew may apply to the Competent Authority for permission to operate.
