USVI: 61-YEAR-OLD IS 68TH PERSON TO DIE OF COVID RELATED COMPLICATIONS IN USVI

The V.I. Department of Health on Tuesday announced the 68th Covid-related death in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

“After further investigating cause of death and ensuring notification of next of kin, the Virgin Islands Department of Health is saddened to confirm the territory’s sixty-eighth death related to Covid-19. The deceased is a 61-year-old female on St. Thomas,” D.O.H. said.

The department said it continues to work to slow the spread of the virus. “Please continue to follow these precautionary measures: practice social distancing, wear a mask when in company of others outside of those in your household, clean frequently used areas thoroughly, and wash your hands often with soap and warm water,” stated the release.

As of Monday there were 220 active cases territory-wide: 158 on St. Croix, 58 on St. Thomas and 4 on St. John. There were 5 people hospitalizations at the Juan F. Luis Hospital and none at the Schneider Regional Medical Center.
