International superstar and billionaire Robyn Rihanna Fenty is set to become Barbados’ 11th National Hero.
The announcement was made by Barbados’ Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley as the country officially transitioned into becoming a Parliamentary Republic on the anniversary of its independence, today November 30.
The ceremony to install Rihanna as the second living national hero will be held later today.
85-year-old Sir Garfield Sobers is the island’s only other living national hero.
