USVI LIFTS INDOOR MASK MANDATE FOR COMMERCIAL AND GOVERNMENT ESTABLISHMENTS

As of today March 14, 2022, persons in the neighbouring United States Virgin Islands, will no longer be required to wear masks indoors at commercial or government establishments.

The announcement was made by USVI Governor Albert Bryan during an early Monday press conference.

He said his Administration however is still in the process of evaluating the wearing of masks in schools, ports of entry, health facilities and nursing homes.

For the schools, Governor Bryan said his Administration along with health officials will be holding discussions with the teachers’ unions and other stakeholders to determine the best way forward.

He said this is to ensure that teachers and other school officials feel safe in their work environment.

The USVI is among the last in all of the U.S. to lift the indoor mask mandate. Just last Thursday, Puerto Rico lifted its mandate and also removed the travel portal requirement for domestic travelers.
