CARICOM CONDEMNS ISRAEL STRIKE ON QATAR

The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has strongly condemned a recent strike by Israel on residential premises in Doha, Qatar, describing the act as a flagrant violation of international law and an affront to Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In a statement issued on Thursday, CARICOM said the attack was particularly alarming as it targeted a state actively serving as a key mediator in ongoing ceasefire negotiations related to the conflict in Gaza. The regional bloc warned that such actions directly undermine vital diplomatic efforts and demonstrate a profound disregard for international norms.

CARICOM reiterated its longstanding call for an immediate, unconditional, and sustained ceasefire, the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid in Gaza, and the release of all hostages. The organisation also reaffirmed its commitment to a two-state solution as the only viable path toward a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in the Middle East.

“CARICOM stands in full solidarity with the State of Qatar and urges all parties to exercise restraint and redouble their efforts to pursue peace through dialogue and negotiation,” the statement said.

The organisation pledged to continue working with the international community to de-escalate tensions and support efforts that promote security and stability in the Middle East.
