Dr Andrew Holness was on Tuesday officially sworn in during a ceremony held at King’s House and presided over by Patrick Allen, the Governor-General of Jamaica.
The ceremony saw Dr Holness taking the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Office, after which he was presented with the Instrument of Appointment, formally marking the start of his new term. This is the fourth time Dr Holness has been sworn in as Prime Minister of Jamaica.
Dr Holness, in his remarks, recommitted himself to building on the progress made during his previous terms, noting that he intends to work closely with various stakeholders to accelerate national development.

The Prime Minister’s renewed pledge comes as the country faces key economic and social challenges, and his administration is expected to outline new priorities in the coming weeks.

His cabinet of ministers was sworn in on Wednesday to mark the new Jamaica Labour Party government.
