CARICOM Reparations commission is in the United Kingdom for the second time as it continues its campaign for reparatory justice.
As the first round of constitutional negotiations between the Virgin Islands and the United Kingdom gets underway, the CARICOM Reparations Commission is on its second visit to the UK to advance its campaign for reparatory justice while strengthening partnerships aimed at promoting public education and civil society engagement.
Speaking during a media briefing on Tuesday, Chairman of the CARICOM Reparations Commission, Sir Hilary Beckles, said the Caribbean continues to grapple with the enduring effects of colonization, identifying the Virgin Islands as a clear example of a territory still navigating its colonial relationship.
