FARRINGTON AND LINDSAY TOP RACE 2 AT THE MOURANT HLSCC COLLEGE CLASSIC RACE SERIES

The Mourant HLSCC College Classic Series continued its Open 2 Mile races on Saturday, October 9, at the College’s Paraquita Bay campus with Jahshani Farrington winning overall in a time of 11 minutes, 33.12 seconds.

Farrington overtook Jonathon Lynch, the fifteen-year old winner of the race opener in September, to make him the winner in the final Open 2 Mile race of the series in Tortola. Past overall winner, Katrina Lindsay, was the female overall winner in a time of 13 minutes, 7.94 seconds. Lindsay was followed by Lia Claxton and Juliane Potgieter respectively.

Race Director, Mrs. Stephanie Russ Penn said, “It is exciting watching the younger generation lead the way this year and dominate the overall participation.”

The race series, under the theme of, “Moving Together for the Fun of It,” will conclude its Tortola leg on October 30 with a special one-mile race for Under 11 participants and the return of the Elite 2 Mile Relay Exchange. Relay teams can be mixed gender and must consist of 3 persons. Relay team registration ends on Thursday, October 28, 2021.

The College continues to partner with the law firm, Mourant providing a green and safe event.

Participants are asked to bring their own water bottles, and adhere to social distancing and safety measures outlined at all events. Distribution of water otherwise is in reusable cups instead of disposable plastic bottles.
