SYNERGY AND PIRATES WILL BE AIMING TO WRAP UP THE PLAYOFF SERIES THIS EVENING – BOTH WITH 1 OF 3

Synergy and Pirates will be looking to book their tickets to the finals of the 2022 Terrence ‘Chino’ Chinnery Fastpitch Softball League this evening after both teams narrowly won games one of their playoff series on Friday.

It took the unbeaten Synergy eight innings to gain the 14-13 victory against Lady Hawks in the best of three series.

Synergy’s pitcher Thea Cooke remained on the mound until the 5th inning, after which a tactical decision was made by the team to allow Bria Smith to continue the game.

Smith, who last pitched half a decade ago, reversed time and defended her team like a true champion, giving Lady Hawks enough heat to swing their bats.

Synergy and Lady Hawks will have their second playoff series matchup this evening at 5pm.

Meanwhile, in the men’s division, Pirates held on to defeat Raiders 3-2 in their first playoff series match up.

Honourable Neville “Sheep” Smith struck out more than 10 batters on the night which led his Pirates to their first playoff victory.

Raiders trailed the Pirates 3-2 in the bottom of the 7th inning, coming up one run short in the game.

Pirates will take on Raiders in the second matchup this evening at 7:15 pm.
