ISLANDERS EASE TO VICTORY WITH 7 DIFFERENT SCORERS IN DOMINANT DISPLAY

The Islanders asserted their dominance in the National League with a resounding 7-1 triumph over Positive FC, further solidifying their position at the top of the standings.

The comprehensive win showcased the Islanders’ dominance as they moved four points clear of their closest rivals, Virgin Gorda United.

Seven different scorers contributed to the Islanders’ victory, highlighting their depth and versatility on the field. Sheldon Harry opened the scoring just three minutes into the game, setting the tone for a commanding performance. Andy Davis doubled the lead in the 12th minute, followed by Oswort Holder’s goal in the 35th minute. The second half saw Collin Lavia, Shamar Lawdon, Enrico Bowen, and Linton Peters all finding the back of the net, sealing a convincing win for the Islanders. Despite a late consolation goal from Nicardo Dixon for Positive FC in the 87th minute, the Islanders’ dominance remained unchallenged.

Speaking after the match, Islanders Manager Fitzroy Daley expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, emphasizing the importance of securing three points in their quest for league success. \

“It was another great win,” Daley remarked. “We controlled the ball, stopped them from playing, and scored at regular intervals. We looked a little tired at the end, so will work on that to make sure we stay strong until the final whistle,” he added.

Meanwhile, Sugar Boys FC celebrated a much-needed victory, defeating Old Madrid FC 5-1. The win lifted the Sugar Boys into the all-important fourth place in the standings, courtesy of Lion Heart FC’s 6-1 victory against Rebels FC.

Terrance Nanton and Junior Arcila each contributed two goals, with captain Derol Redhead adding to the tally. Redhead hailed the win as a crucial turning point for the team, expressing confidence in their ability to secure silverware by season’s end.

In Lion Heart’s dominant performance, Bishon Edwards, Gregory Morgan, and Tyrone Buddah were among the goal scorers, while Kelvin Glasgow found the net for Rebels FC.

With the latest points standings placing the Islanders at the top with 32 points, followed closely by Virgin Gorda United with 28 points and Wolues FC in third place with 27 points, the race for the league title promises to intensify as the season progresses.
