PRINCE ANDREW SETTLES SEXUAL ASSUALT CASE – TO PAY “UNDISCLOSED SUM”

The Duke of York Prince Andrew has settled the sexual assault case brought against him by a United States Citizen for “an undisclosed sum” of money.

This was confirmed in a letter filed to the U.S District Court on Tuesday February 15 which said Prince Andrew and the alleged victim Virginia Giuffre reached an out-of-court settlement.

Giuffre had been suing the Duke of York, alleging that he sexually assaulted her on three occasions when she was 17, allegations the prince has repeatedly denied.

According to international news sites Buckingham Palace declined to comment on the settlement and Prince Andrew’s representatives said he had no other comment beyond what was said in the document filed to the court.

In a letter to U.S judge Lewis Kaplan, Giuffre’s lawyer David Boies wrote jointly with Prince Andrew’s lawyers to say the pair had reached “a settlement in principle”.
