RVIPF OFFERING PENALTY FREE TINT TESTING

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force is set to conduct tint testing this Friday, March 15, from 3 to 5 pm at the Road Town Police Station.

The motoring public is encouraged to make the most of this initiative, as there will be no penalties for illegal tint readings. Taxi operators are also strongly encouraged to seize this opportunity, taking advantage of the absence of cruise ships in port, to avoid potential stops while transporting tourists.

Sergeant Glenn Callwood states, “The maximum penalty for illegal tints is $750 per glass, so we are urging persons to take advantage of the free testing to ensure they are abiding by the law.”

Additionally, it’s important to note that adding extra tints, even if within the permissible percentage, to any vehicle that already has factory tinting may be deemed illegal and would have to be removed.
