GOVERNOR PRUCE COMMENDS RVIPF FOR ITS ROLE IN THE MASSIVE $180M COCAINE SEIZURE

His Excellency Governor Daniel Pruce has revealed that the cocaine seized in Tuesday’s drug bust totals 1.8 tonnes at an estimated street value of $180 million.

Governor Pruce congratulated the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) for their involvement in a joint operation on Tuesday, March 5 which led to the territory’s largest drug bust.

With assistance from the United States Customs Border Control, both entities managed to have a go-fast vessel intercepted in the vicinity of Hodges Creek, Tortola that resulted in the discovery of 1.8 tonnes of cocaine.

Speaking publicly for the first time since the breakthrough, Governor Pruce said successful drug seizure operations of this nature are key to disrupting the drug trade in the BVI.

Governor Pruce also appealed to the public to provide any information that can assist with the ongoing investigations.
