UPDATE – FOUR ARRESTED FOLLOWING V.G. ROBBERY

Late Saturday night, October 17th, officers of Virgin Gorda Police Station charged three of the four men arrested in connection with the armed robbery in the Valley, Virgin Gorda.

Charged are Tray Audain, 25, of no fix place of abode, Rakeem Lennard, 28, of North Sound, and Lekhoy Hughes, 21, of no fix place of abode. A 15-year-old was discharged pending further investigation. The three are to appear before the Magistrate’s Court at its next available sitting.

The four were arrested following a reported robbery outside a supermarket on Lee Road.

Initial reports indicate that two masked males, both armed with firearms, approached two individuals outside the supermarket, snatched their handbags, ran to the back of the store and escaped in a vehicle.

Officers of the Virgin Gorda Police Station responded and apprehended three suspects including the driver of the vehicle near the North Sound Basketball Court. A fourth suspect fled the scene but was subsequently captured and arrested.

Investigations are ongoing in this matter.
