FIRE COMPLETELY DESTROYS VIRGIN GORDA HOME AND CAR; FIRE CHIEF MR. ZEBALON A. MCLEAN PRAISES OFFICERS AND RESIDENTS FOR SWIFT ACTION RESULTING IN NO LOSS OF LIFE

Last evening January 19th, 2022 after 8pm, residents became alarmed by a loud explosion. Shortly after the loud noise alerted nearby residents that something was wrong, Chief Fire Officer Mr. Zebalon McLean said reports were then made to the Virgin Gorda Fire station of a home on fire.

The wooden home and a vehicle parked on the premises were located at Princess Quarters, South Vally Virgin Gorda.

In speaking to our newsroom via a phone call on the significance of the damage to property and the time it took to eradicate the fire McLean said, “It took officers approximately three hours to put the fire out. Everything in the home was destroyed. But thankfully, no one was injured or perished as a result.”

McLean also took the time to share just how proud he was of his officers and the residents of Virgin Gorda who he said single handedly assisted in extinguishing the fire. He praised locals Dwight and Ricardo Flax for their assistance in providing their water trucks.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
