THREE ARRESTED ON SUSPICION OF MURDER OF JAQUAN THOMAS – GUNS, DRUGS AND MONEY SEIZED DURING OPERATIONS

An early morning police operation has resulted in the arrest of five persons, including three on suspicion of murder of the late Jaquan Thomas.

This was confirmed by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) today Wednesday March 2.

The RVIPF said the operation was conducted on Tuesday and occurred in the western end of Tortola.

They said, “An operation yesterday morning targeting several premises on the western end of the island resulted in three persons being arrested on suspicion of the murder in the shooting death of Jaquan Thomas and another two on firearm and drug possession offences.”

Police also confirmed that the incident which made waves across social media after a male was detained while driving on the Waterfront Drive, involved one of the five persons who were arrested.

The RVIPF further revealed that the operation which included officers of the Major Crime Team, the Special Investigation Team, the Armed Response Team and the Intelligence Unit also “yielded a substantial number of firearms, along with cash and drugs.

Police continues to make its appeal for anyone with information in relation to the murder of Jacquan Thomas to provide that information to the Major Crime Team by calling 368-5682.
