ESHS REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT WILL NOT BE PUT ON HOLD

Premier Dr. the Honourable Natalio Wheatley has given the assurance to residents that the Elmore Stoutt High School Redevelopment Project will not be one of the projects put on hold as part of the Commission of Inquiry (COI) Report recommendations.

Premier Wheatley made the comment following questions posed by the media on the subject.

The comment follows recommendation B18 from the Commission of Inquiry Report, where Commissioner Sir Gary Hickinbottom called for a full audit on all major contracts over $100,000 within the last three years.

Four contracts totaling in excess of $11.4 million dollars were signed in March for the construction of four new buildings which are part of the redevelopment project for the Elmore Stoutt High School campus.

According to the former Premier Andrew Fahie, the plan is to have the project completed to have students seated and learning in the new buildings by September 2022.
