THE DECLINE IN SPONSORSHIP TOWARDS ENTERTAINMENT EVENTS IN THE BVI AT AN ALL TIME HIGH

The decline in sponsorship towards entertainment events from businesses and non-governmental organisations in the British Virgin Islands has been described to be at an all-time high.

This is according to businessman and event organiser Steve Parillion who made the comment during an exclusive interview with 284Media.

Parillion at the time of his interview was promoting his upcoming ‘Tent Fete: Costume Edition’ event which is scheduled for this Saturday June 4.

The businessman also said that being a promoter in the territory is not as simple or easy as perceived.

He explained that there have been many times in the past where he had to go without receiving a salary from his own events to ensure that every other person involved was paid.

In contrast, Parillion said that in other Caribbean islands, businesses such as telecommunication providers and those involved in the sale of beverages are more forthcoming with sponsorship towards entertainment events, unlike in the BVI.
