RESIDENTS CAN NOW PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON THE 2022 EMANCIPATION FESTIVAL – ONLINE SURVEY LAUNCHED

Residents across the territory will now have the opportunity to provide direct feedback on the just concluded 2022 Emancipation Festival celebrations.

This after the Central Statistics Office officially launched a survey to gather feedback from the public on the emancipation festivities.

The survey according to a media release from the Office will be opened to the public for a one-month period and all aggregated results will be publicized.

Director of the Central Statistics Office Mr. Raymond Phillips in a media release said “the ultimate objective of the survey is to make the decision makers aware of some of the public’s sentiments of the celebrations with a view to actions towards improvement.”

He also encouraged the public to provide their honest feedback, adding that the conduct of surveys forms part of the remit of the statistics office and are conducted upon the request of other departments or as deemed necessary.

The survey can be filled out online, via this link: https://forms.gle/zbpznMwVNWAa7n9c7.

The announcement of a survey for residents to provide input on the recently concluded emancipation festival first came to light at a press conference with the Premier and Minister of Finance Dr. the Honourable Natalio Wheatley.

At the time of the press conference, he was responding to questions posed by the media on the possibility of making all Emancipation Festival events free to the public.

The premier said while the idea of hosting an Emancipation Festival that is free for all to attend is possible, residents must be realistic about the ability of the government to take on this cost, and the impact it will have on other areas.

He said it was his hope that the Festival Committee soon engage with members of the public to get a feel on their views of this year’s festival activities, and an understanding of what form residents would like to see the event take moving forward.

This, he suggested, could take place by way of a survey in which members of the public would be asked to review the events and give suggestions and views on how the experience could be made better in the coming year.
