QUEEN’S ELIZABETH’S FUNERAL SET FOR SEPTEMBER 19TH, PREMIER WHEATLEY WILL ATTEND

Premier Dr. The Honourable Natalio Wheatley is out of Territory from September 12th to September 20th, a period during which he will attend the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Wheatley will first attend the Caribbean Tourism Organisation’s Cayman Event in the Cayman Islands, and from there will travel to the United Kingdom.

According to an official statement from Buckingham Palace, the State Funeral for Queen Elizabeth II will be held at Westminster Abbey on September 19th.

The Queen’s remains currently lie in the throne room in Edinburgh, after travelling from the Balmoral Castle on Sunday, where she died a few days prior.

For a period of four days, before the state funeral, the Queen’s coffin will lie at the Westminster Hall to allow members of the public to come pay their final respects.

After the funeral, the Queen will be laid to rest in the King George VI Memorial Chapel, inside the St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

There she joins King George VI, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and her sister Princess Margaret.
