MRS GLOBE BVI 2022 DONATES FUNDS FOR FREE PAP TESTS INITIATIVE

Mrs Globe BVI 2022 Dr. Arliene T Penn has made good on her promise to fund efforts to provide free Pap tests for eligible women in the Territory.

On November 17th, Dr. Penn held a donation ceremony during which she presented cheques to the BVI Cancer Society and the WIN BVI Organisation.

According to Dr. Penn a total of $5050 was raised for the initiative through ticket sales for her Tropical Soiree event in October.

Of this sum, $3030 went to the BVI Cancer Society and $2020 went to WIN BVI.

Dr. embarked on the initiative as a part of her platform of Cervical Cancer Awareness and Prevention. She is an 18 year Cervical Cancer Survivor, and is urging women across the globe to be proactive with ensuring good reproductive health. 

The initiative is in partnership with Eureka Medical.

Registration for the free Pap test initiative opened on November 15th and will close on November 30th.

Eligible candidates are described as:

Women between Age 21-29, sexually active and never had Pap test 

Women Aged 21-65, sexually active and had no Pap test in 3 years 

At appointments, which will be scheduled from the 1st to the 15th of December, all will receive a free doctor’s consultation. 

The invitation is open to women from Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada and Jost Van Dyke.
