GOVERNOR STANDS WITH AG AMID HOA BACKLASH

Governor John Rankin has expressed unwavering confidence in the quality of work produced by the Auditor General and her team.

This comes after members of the House of Assembly heavily criticised the work of the Auditor General while debating the contents of the audits conducted into government contracts issued to Claude Skelton Cline and EZ Shipping in recent years.

While he noted that the Members of the House of Assembly are entitled to discussing such matters, he does not support the notion that these criticisms should trigger any review of the audits.

While Members of the House of Assembly, particularly Premier Dr the Honourable Natalio Wheatley, have made it a point that persons who were accused in the audits should have been interviewed for their side of the events, Governor Rankin says that time will come. Likely during police inquiries.
