NATIONAL BUSINESS BUREAU TO RETURN IN 2024

The National Business Bureau is expected to be reinstated in 2024 after being dormant since 2019.

Premier Dr. the Honourable Natalio briefly announced the return of the national bureau during his 2024 Budget Address on Tuesday.

In addition, the premier said a work management system will be implemented to ensure that nationals benefit from employment opportunities in the territory.

The National Business Bureau was established under the leadership of former Premier Dr. D Orlando Smith for the development of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises sector.

A big advocate for the return of the bureau has been Opposition Legislator Honourable Myron Walwyn.

Upon his return to elected politics in May, Walwyn’s first order of business was calling on the government to recognise the need for reinstating the national bureau, pointing to the need of small businesses for technical support and access to funding and capital.

Meanwhile, Premier Wheatley updated residents on the progress of the RATED Programme, stating that more than 700 residents have already benefited from the employment initiative.
