I WOULD LIKE TO BE REMEMBERED FOR GETTING THE STADIUM BUILT – SAYS BICKERTON

Former President of the BVI Football Association (BVIFA) Andrew “Andy” Bickerton says he would like the Greenland Football Stadium to be a part of his football legacy after serving nearly two decades at the helm of local football.

After announcing his retirement which came into effect on November 30, 2023, Bickerton was credited by the BVIFA for his role in successfully lobbying the Government of the Virgin Islands to lease land at Greenland, East End for the development of the football stadium that is also expected to include an athletics track.

The 2600-seater facility remains under construction with works to continue throughout 2024.

In a recent interview with Bickerton, our news agency asked what he would like to be remembered for while serving as president.

Bickerton also explained how the completed facility will benefit the development of football at the club and international level once it is completed.
