A number of changes will be made to the territory’s social policy in 2024, including an increase in monies received by beneficiaries of the Social Development Department.
This is according to the Minister of Health and Social Development, Honourable Vincent Wheatley.
Minister Wheatley said the monies are allocated for this and other initiatives in the 2024 budget which will see his ministry receiving the largest portion of the $382.67 million budget, which amounts to 20.38 percent or $95.92 million.
Minister Wheatley said more information will be forthcoming as the weeks progress with plans to ramp up his ministry’s public relations in 2024 to keep the public updated on changes.
He also provided some updates on the other initiatives stemming from his ministry in 2024.
