VG UNITED DOMINATES LION HEART FC TO MOVE 4 POINTS CLEAR IN NATIONAL LEAGUE STANDINGS

In a thrilling weekend of National League football, Virgin Gorda (VG) United asserted their dominance with a resounding 7-0 victory over Lion Heart FC to extend their lead at the top of the standings to 22 points.

The unbeaten VG United showcased their prowess as they dismantled Lion Heart FC at the Greenland Football Stadium on Sunday. A remarkable brace from Jadon Quashie, who now boasts nine goals this season, set the tone for VG United’s commanding performance. Additional strikes came from Devante Sammuel, T’Khoi Richardson, Joel Mars, Kijuan Nimblett, and Thomas Albert.

VG’s Manager Jermain Abrams expressed satisfaction with the team’s execution of their game plan, stating, “We had a good game plan which our opponents didn’t deal with. We stuck with the same players into the second half and were able to capitalize on our first-half goals with almost all the subs scoring. The team worked hard and from start to finish never let Lion Heart get a foothold in the game.”

Meanwhile, Sugar Boys FC rekindled their campaign after pulling off a significant upset by defeating the high-flying Wolues FC with a 2-0 scoreline.

Captain Derol Redhead opened the scoring in the first half, and Rashad Boyce sealed the victory with a second-half strike. This victory propelled Sugar Boys FC to the fourth position on the league table with 13 points, while Wolues remain second in the standings with 18 points.

Commenting on the crucial win, Redhead remarked, “It was a very important win for us. We are fully aware of the points situation and know what the Wolues were capable of, having developed their team over the years and always giving us a run for the money. However, we knew what we needed to do, and the early goal was crucial. We are setting ourselves up nicely for the second half of the season, and we will definitely be in the mix for the title.”

In other league fixtures, One Love FC sailed to an uncontested victory over Positive FC, while the Islanders dazzled the audience with a remarkable performance, routing Old Madrid FC with a commanding 14-0 win. Oswort Holder showcased his scoring prowess with a hat trick, and Antonio Rodney, Collin Lavia, and McTair James each doubled the delight with two goals apiece. Sheldon Harry Junior and Shamar Lawdon joined the scoring spree, reinforcing the Islanders’ standing in third place on the league leaderboard with a total of 17 points.
