WOLUES CLIMB TO SECOND PLACE AFTER HARD-FOUGHT VICTORY OVER PANTHERS FC

“It wasn’t our greatest performance,” remarked Nelson. “But we always felt like the victory would be ours. Large parts of the game were played in their half which was pleasing, and it could have been more, but three points is really all we wanted.”

Wolues’ victory sees them closing the gap on league leaders Islanders FC, with just five points separating the two teams, and Wolues having three games in hand. Their next challenge awaits them against VG United, who currently sit in third place behind Wolues.

In other matches, Lion Heart FC dealt a blow to the title aspirations of VG United, securing a 1-0 victory courtesy of a strike from Bishon Richards. The defeat marked VG United’s first loss of the year, keeping them within reach of the chasing pack in the race for a top-four finish.

Meanwhile, Sugar Boys FC cruised to a resounding 7-0 victory over Positive FC, with the game halted at halftime as Positive FC failed to meet the minimum requirement of seven players to start the second half.
