DEFENDING CHAMPIONS DOMINATE IN 2024 NATIONAL FAST PITCH LEAGUE

In the latest round of the 2024 Raymond “Mahassa” Mercer & Kathleen Fahie National Fast Pitch League, both the Pirates and Synergy showed why they are the defending champions with commanding victories last weekend.

The action kicked off on Friday at the E. Walwyn Brewley Ball Park with a high-scoring encounter between Power Outage and Aces. Power Outage, the 2023 men’s division runners-up, secured a 17-10 victory, collecting 14 hits. Jamarli James, Jamal Allen, and Andre Titley each launched a home run to set the tone for the game.

Saturday saw the men’s defending champions, Pirates, dominate Storm with a decisive 16-6 victory. The game turned in the third inning when Pirates extended their lead significantly by scoring 8 runs compared to Storm’s 1. The Pirates’ robust performance left little doubt about their intent to defend their title successfully.

In the final men’s game of the weekend, VG Heat outplayed West Mobsters, claiming a comprehensive 22-12 victory. VG Heat’s offensive strategy overwhelmed the Mobsters, ensuring a comfortable win.

The women’s division also witnessed some thrilling matches. Khalisha Stoutt led Pure Problems to a commanding 21-6 win over Lady Wings on Saturday, delivering an outstanding performance in the circle.

On Sunday, the women’s defending champions, Synergy, continued their dominant run with an emphatic 18-3 victory over Sparks. Contributions from Sprauve, Scatliffe, Fahie, Malone, and Collins ensured a comprehensive win, highlighting Synergy’s depth and teamwork.

The league action is set to continue this weekend with an exciting lineup of games.
