Olympian and Junior World Champion Adaejah Hodge returned to the British Virgin Islands (BVI) on Thursday to a warm reception at the Road Town Ferry Terminal.
Her arrival marked her first visit since her historic performances at the World Athletics Under-20 Championships in Peru and the Paris Olympic Games.
Hodge achieved unprecedented success, becoming the first BVI athlete to win medals in two finals at the same World Athletics competition, claiming gold in the women’s 200 metres and silver in the 100 metres.
Steve Augustine, President of the BVI Athletics Association, expressed pride in Hodge’s accomplishments and excitement for her engagements in the Territory, including her motivational workshop.
Ephraim Penn, President of the BVI Olympic Committee, praised her Olympic presence, describing her as the “star of the show” wherever she goes.
Hodge, passionate about youth empowerment, shared her enthusiasm for hosting her first workshop in the territory on Saturday, November 30.
Adaejah’s visit is expected to inspire the next generation of athletes in the Virgin Islands and celebrate her groundbreaking journey.
