TWO ARRESTED FOR KILLING OF KEMO LETTSOME

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has arrested and charged two individuals in connection with the April 30, 2023 murder of Kemo Lettsome in Long Look, Tortola. 

The accused, 32-year-old Vernon Bernard of Manuel Reef and 28-year-old Jelani Marquis of Hannah’s Estate, were taken into custody following an intensive year-long investigation into the fatal shooting that occurred during a family gathering last year.

Lettsome was shot and succumbed to his injuries at the scene, leaving his family and the wider community devastated by the tragic loss. The arress represent a major breakthrough, providing hope for justice and closure.

RVIPF Commissioner Mark Collins commended the dedication and tireless efforts of the officers involved in cracking the case. “Their commitment to justice and community safety has been unwavering, and it’s their hard work that brings us closer to justice for the victim and his family,” Collins stated.

While the investigation remains ongoing, with efforts to gather all necessary evidence, the police force has assured the public of its commitment to transparency and justice. Updates will be provided as they become available.
