USVI EMMANUEL ‘EFEX’ PHILLIP IS 284 FILM EXCELLENCE TOP WINNER

The 284 Film Excellence Film Competition hosted by the BVI Film Commission and Tourist Board last evening Sunday November 19th at UP’s Cineplex saw Mr. Emmanuel ‘Efex’ Phillip of St. Thomas USVI emerging as the top prize winner. Phillips received the Rhodni A. Skelton Award for Best film for his Fantasy Film “Three little Wishes”. Phillips also walked away with a cash prize of $5000.00. Additionally, his film received the Best Actor and Actress award going to Ashawn-Taedo Phillips and Mayte’ah Phillips respectively.

The well attended event saw creatives and film enthusiast from all around the Virgin Islands, along with a number of highly credited industry experts who judged the competition including Virgin Islands Actor Mr. Sheldon Frett.

Mr. Camroy Peters placed 1st Runner-up with his documentary titled ‘Crack of Dawn’. Peters also won the Best Screenplay and Best Editing awards.

Ms. Naudia Turnbull placed 2nd runner up for her Thriller filmed titled ‘Surreal’. More details and highlights to follow in this evening’s newscast.
