BVIHSA STAFF SALARIES DELAYED DUE TO “MISSED DEADLINE”, STAFF AWAITING UPDATE; HR MANAGER SAYS SALARIES SHOULD BE RECEIVED BY TODAY AND TOMORROW

In an email sent to some 731 members of staff on Monday November 29th, 2021. Staff of the BVIHSA were made aware of an issue regarding the agencies payroll.

The email stated, “Please note that due to a combination of various issues beyond our control, the salaries of employees who bank with the undernoted institutions will be delayed:

CIBC First Caribbean-said bank is closed until further notice and there was no-one present to receive the payroll today. We will spare no effort tomorrow to ensure that we find a solution to this problem.

Banco and First Bank-As previously advised, these banks require (2) business days for payroll and processing and we missed the deadline.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience to you and solicit your patience and understanding in this matter. A future update will be provided tomorrow.”

Since the initial correspondence, no further update had been provided to staff up until the publishing of this article.

Our newsroom reached out to Mr. Levor Lettsome, Human Resources Manager of the BVIHSA on the matter and Lettsome stated, “Based on my knowledge of the situation, staff should receive salaries by today Wednesday 1st and tomorrow Thursday 2nd.”
