A UNITED GOV’T WAS MY IDEA – SAYS FRASER WHO EXPLAINED WHY HE REMAINS AS THE LONE OPPOSITION

Third District Representative and Leader of the Opposition Honourable Julian Fraser has said that the present united structure of the new Government of the Virgin Islands was an idea he suggested.

Fraser made the comment during yesterday’s House of Assembly Sitting, after explaining why he was the only member left on the Opposition side.

He said his decision to remain as the lone Opposition is to keep the newly formed National Unity Government in check, to account to the people.

After discussing the idea among the Opposition Members, Fraser said that he and the Members then furthered discussions of an all-party government with Dr. the Honourable Natalio Wheatley who was the Acting Premier at the time.

Fraser further revealed that the notion of an all-party government was initially rejected by some of the other members of government, however, after discussions were had with their party leader Dr. Wheatley, the team finally came to agree with the decision.
