A YOUTHFUL FOOTBALL TEAM SELECTED TO FACE CAYMAN ISLANDS ON FRIDAY

The British Virgin Islands Football Association (BVIFA) has selected a youthful 23-member men’s national team to face the Cayman Islands tomorrow Friday, June 3 at the A. O. Shirley Recreation Ground.

The full team includes captain Kavon Troy Caesar, Mekhi Waters, Daniel Gilford, Jerry Wiltshire, Phillip Nelson, Denvin Jones, Miguel Marshall, Justin Smith, Kristian Javier Samuel, Giovanni Grant, Ikyjah Williams, Alejandro Santos, T’Sharne Gallimore, Jamie Wilson, Liam Blok, Carlos Septus, Tyler Forbes, Jake Forbes, Luca Chalwell, Luka Reich, Levon Williams, Makimbo Demming and Quahlani Nickie.

Speaking at the team announcement press conference last evening, President of the BVIFA Mr. Andy Bickerton said the selection of a young team is deliberate as it falls in line with the policy of the Association in developing youthful local talent.

National Coach Chris Kiwomya said it while it will be a challenge for the team, who will be playing together for the first time, the aim will be to adapt and win the game.

Meanwhile, Captain Caesar gave some insight into the atmosphere of the team, stating that his boys are gelling well together ahead of the match.

That match is set for 4pm on Friday, June 3 at the A. O. Shirley Recreation Ground.
