$100M LOAN ENOUGH TO PROVIDE THE BVI WITH A 1ST CLASS INFRASTRUCTURE

A loan amount of approximately $100 million is believed to be enough to provide the BVI with a first class infrastructure that it rightfully deserves.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Communication and Works Hon. Kye Rymer made the declaration recently in the House of Assembly.

He said the time has come where the BVI has no other choice but to borrow to accelerate their infrastructural development works.

Minister Rymer said that he has come to the realisation that the level of works needed to the infrastructure of the territory cannot be funded by any government surpluses, whether present or in the future.

The deputy premier also highlighted the importance of infrastructural development in the territory as it relates to sectors such as tourism.

He said with data available to project tourist arrivals into the territory, it is important that the BVI is well equipped and prepared to make their experience as supreme as possible.
