Incumbent Representative for District 9 Honourable Vincent Wheatley has challenged anyone to name a 9th District Representative who has accomplished more than he has in a single term.
Wheatley spoke during a recent edition of the Virgin Islands Party’s “Let’s Talk” Radio Programme.
He went on to address a question that he was asked in a recent interview, as he believed that greater clarity was needed on the response he had provided.
He said that while on Virgin Gorda he was asked by a local media practitioner to share one thing that he started that he would have liked to see through to completion but was not able to complete when he gave up his ministry.
While discussing the topic V Wheatley reiterated that he voluntarily gave up his ministry in order to allow the National Unity Government to form and function.
He said, to this day, he does not understand why the Land Ownership Programme has not been completed. This, as he noted he had laid a significant amount of groundwork before giving up his ministry.
He said that this was the point he was trying to share during his recent interview, and that he wanted to be abundantly clear that his efforts were not politically motivated.
