NO TO SINGLE PARTY GOV’T; VI NEEDS EXPERIENCED LEADERSHIP – FRASER

“You can’t send back the same group of people who caused this to happen in the first place”.

Those were the words of District 3 Incumbent Hon. Julian Fraser as he explained that it may not sit well with the United Kingdom should Virgin Islanders vote to return a single party majority, particularly one of the Virgin Islands Party, to form the next Government.

He spoke as a guest on 284 Media’s Just for the Record.

Fraser said that consideration of this has been a factor in the recent decision of Progressives United to form an alliance with the Progressive Virgin Islands Movement. He further explained that discussions have taken place with a third political party in pursuit of securing the emergence of a coalition government.

He said that in his view this is a time in which the Virgin Islands requires experienced leaders to navigate what must be done.

That is why he is again seeking re-election to continue to represent the people of District 3 and the wider Virgin Islands.

One specific situation where he applied this logic surrounds the ongoing Constitutional Review. He stressed that the document which will eventually emerge from this process must be presented and negotiated with the United Kingdom, and he believes that there needs to be experience on the side of the parties sent into those discussions on behalf of the Virgin Islands.

Fraser’s full Just for the Record interview will be released to 284 Media.com on Thursday April 6th.
