District 3 Candidate Kevin “OJ” Smith believes that the Third District is the “next logical place for development” in the Virgin Islands especially as the Territory continues to expand its capacity in the Tourism Industry.
He notes however that the district’s true potential can only be realised after a significant clean-up is undertaken.
Smith spoke as a guest on 284 Media’s Just for the Record.
Smith believes that the network he has built over the years places him in a unique position to identify cost effective ways to bring the necessary technology to the Third District to drive the intended development.
A particular area of concern in the 3rd, he noted, is continued open burning in Pockwood Pond.
Smith said he has personally been affected by the issue, so much so that he has feared for the health of his children.
He said addressing the situation there would be a matter of great priority should he be elected.
